Description

This contract is for fencing work to be undertaken at 6 allotment sites within the town. The works consist of:-
1) removal of any existing boundary fencing (not from residential properties)

2) supply and erection of 2.0 m high steel palisade fencing on 6 allotment sites located around Banbury.

Following the removal of old boundary fencing the successful contractor will supply and install either a straight hot-dip galvanised finish product or a hot-dip galvanised and powder-coated painted finish fencing product as per the attached contract documentation dependent upon the site.

The 6 sites are:-
1) Sinclair Avenue Allotment Site - fencing to be erected on adjacent school land boundary that abuts the allotments. This to have a painted finish to it. Work here will be undertaken in consultation with Banbury Town Council (BTC) and Hill View School and so may require programming into a school holiday period?

2) Wood Green Allotment Site - as above in consultation with BTC, Frank Wise School and Wood Green Allotment Association. This will require fencing with both finishes with the painted fencing on the school site.

Where the fencing is being erected on the school sites the pales will have rounded tops as per the contract specification otherwise the pales will have the normal 3 prong tops to them.

3) Spital Farm Allotment Site - works to be undertaken in consultation with BTC and the Allotment Association

4) Grange Road Allotment Site

5) Easington Allotment Site - works to be undertaken in consultation with BTC and the Allotment Association

6) Dover Avenue Allotment Site - works to be undertaken in consultation with BTC and the Allotment Association

Location plans of these sites can be found in the Fencing Contract documentation.

Any waste is to be removed to either an Environmental Agency or local authority approved tip and any ground or other damage shall be reinstated to the entire satisfaction of Banbury Town Council, through whom all correspondence will be directed.

The analysis of the contracts will be based on price however the information by contractors on their experience will be taken into consideration. Failure to provide this information by the tender return date will result in the tenders being considered incomplete and will not therefore be assessed.

4 of the sites although owned by Banbury Town Council (BTC) are managed by Allotment Associations with whom the work will be agreed and programmed in. All liaison work will be undertaken by/through BTC. These sites are:-
Wood Green
Spital Farm
Easington
Dover Avenue
The remaining 2 sites at Sinclair Avenue and Grange Road are directly owned and managed by BTC.

A substantial part of the fencing at Wood Green and all that for Sinclair Avenue is to have rounded tops to the pales and be installed with a powder coated finish as the work will take place on the school boundaries with the allotment sites. Both schools are being developed at this time so the fencing will be undertaken at times agreed with all parties but as soon as is practicably possible.

The remaining fencing for Wood Green is outside the school boundary and together with that on the remaining 4 sites it will be erected along the site boundaries or in the case of Easington as close to the boundary as is practicably possible. This fencing shall be the hot-dip galvanised finish with the standard 3 prong top security pale.
