Description

Great Sankey Parish Council are seeking tenders from specialist sports pitch drainage and construction companies to undertake the drainage and reinstatement of an area of around 2.0 ha of existing sportsfields in the Great Sankey area. The works will include the following elements:
• Locate underground services and carry out test digs to prove depth to the services where new drains will be installed over these services.
• Mark out development area within the site.
• Install a piped drainage system, a secondary sand slit drainage system, detention basin and connection to existing outfall chamber / stream.
• Remove arisings to the easement area and shape.
• Supply and spread sports sand top-dressing material.
• Seeding, establishment, reinstate haul route and easement areas and seed, maintenance to handover including temporary irrigation (estimated 6 months).

Suitable companies should have a proven track record of successful sportsfield drainage works, with a strong balance sheet and trading record. Companies should own and operate suitable drainage machines such as rotary trenchers and / or continuous chain trenchers, with associated backfilling hoppers. Ideally the trenching equipment should be laser controlled to enable grade to be manufactured if needed.
