Description

On its Kingswood estate, Corby Borough Council owns many properties from the 1960's, which are typified by integral ground floor garages, with flats / maisonettes above and some separate garage blocks with mono-pitch roofs. Often these small and potentially isolated garages prove difficult to let and as a result are prone to dilapidation and antisocial behaviour. It is for these reasons and the authority's continuing desire to provide more affordable homes, while helping to "lift" the wider area, which has led to this proposed "pilot" scheme to convert 30no. void garages in Barnard into accommodation for affordable rent. The Works shall include all works necessary for the completion of the scheme, as prescribed within the Tender Documents.
