Description

UCL's Extreme Citizen Science (ExCiteS) group has recently been awarded EPSRC Impact Acceleration Account funding from the "Discovery To Use" initiative at UCL.

The funding has been awarded to launch a social enterprise - the ExCiteS Social Enterprise (or ESE), via the Accelerated Upgrade and Market Entry project (AcUMEn). This tender is for one of several work packages to help launch the social enterprise.

ExCiteS requires the services of an experienced technology delivery partner to design and develop a user-facing tool that couples with Sapelli, a data-gathering platform designed for usage by non-literate and indigenous communities. A paper detailing the origins of Sapelli is included in the materials below, alongside high-level technical specification for Sapelli Designer itself. This is a fixed-cost contract of £30,000, incorporating detailed technical design, development and user assurance work. The partner will be expected to work closely with members of the ExCiteS team and prospective partners, liaising with our Social Enterprise Consultancy partner, Tulba Consulting.
