Description

The project is for the digitisation of a section of the Museum's collection of mixed media film. This digitisation project forms one strand of ongoing collections review and involves the creation of digital records for three categories of film material. This element of the project consists of:

• Film reels (including 35mm, 16mm, 8mm) - roughly 121
• U-matic and Betacam cassettes - 11 (7 U-matic and 4 Betacam)
• VHS Cassettes - roughly 523

The Collection is currently stored at the Museum's reserve collection store at Stevenage which will need to be visited to get the scale of work required. For budgeting purposes, the Museum requires the cost for the digitisation of each type of media to be priced separately in the tender response so that it can decide at the project award stage whether carry out all or part of the project. The Museum may accept tenders for all or part of the works from different tenderers.
