Description

Banbury Town Council is seeking Expressions of Interest from contractors willing to remove the old equipment and then supply and install new wheeled sports equipment to refurbish it's skate park in Spiceball Park, Banbury. The preference by users is for plywood structures on a galvanised box metal framework to be installed on its existing site.
Following the receipt of the Expressions of interest, a short list will be drawn up and these suppliers will be invited to attend a meeting with the users who include people from all forms of wheeled sports i.e. skate-boarders, BMX bikers, in-line bladers and scooters. The new equipment is to cater for them all and a contract brief is attached outlining the sort of equipment and details required to fulfill this.
The meeting will be held on Wednesday 4th July after which the selected tenderers will be invited to submit their tenders to be opened at Noon on Friday 3rd August.
The new facility should provide for both proficient riders and learners to the various sports with emphasis on ensuring that the site on completion will provide for extreme enjoyment by all ages and users. Ideally the site should also allow the user group to move equipment around to ensure that it provide the maximum benefit for both local people and visitors to the town and by conforming to users wishes the long term ownership of the site by them.
By using plywood riding surfaces this has to be easily maintained with interchangeable equipment that can be repaired by our Park Ranger team.
The final selection of contractor for this project will be made in consultation with users and therefore we are seeking the best exciting design within the available budget.
This project when completed must comply with current British Standards for Wheeled Sports Equipment BS EN 14974:2006+A1:2010.
