Description

The final date and time for the submission of bids is Monday 6th July 2020 at 14:00 DO NOT apply directly to the buyer. All tender information MUST be submitted through the Delta eSourcing Portal.
This programme of work aims to bring UK Geoenergy Observatories science and issues to life through a range of digital and physical educational and engagement resources for use with target audiences. The resources will become part of a broader communications and engagement programme being delivered by the BGS and NERC to engage people over the 15-year lifetime of the observatories with the science themes at the heart of the UK Geoenergy Observatories
Objectives
The objectives of the outreach work are to:
• Encourage more young people to consider geoscience and data science as career options
• Excite, enthuse and engage all audience groups with UK Geoenergy Observatories research
• Engage all audience groups with the relevance and importance of an independent evidence base for public good in environmental science

Objectives
The specific objectives can best be summarised as being designed for three separate end user communities:
a) Primary and secondary schools: In consultation with education providers, identify curriculum-relevant aspects of the science themes and to create a package of educational resources and trial them in clusters of schools in Glasgow and Cheshire before making them available as an educational resource to schools nationally.
b) UK Geoenergy Observatories researchers and other civic communities engaged in public dialogue, engagement and debate around the use of the subsurface (eg Minerals Planning Authorities, campaign groups, debating societies): To create an outreach toolbox of digital and physical resources based on these themes to be made available as an engagement resource nationally.
c) UKRI research centres (BGS, BAS, NOC, CEH, NCAS), science discovery centres, university Earth science faculties and other science institutions: To create an interactive geoscience installation suitable for use in non-formal environments, for example open days, festivals & touring exhibits.
