Description
Natural England is inviting tenders to enable the co-creation, with the water industry, of design principles and guidance for new reservoirs in the English landscape to deliver new, environmentally sustainable reservoirs across England which:
• conserve and enhance existing landscape character, including the natural beauty of National Parks and Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONBs) in line with their statutory purpose to conserve and enhance natural beauty;
• enhance existing landscapes or produce new high-quality, multi-functional landscapes in the wider countryside which deliver for landscape, nature and nature recovery; and
• will help them to comply with national planning policy therefore assist in securing planning approval.
Landscape specific design principles and guidance offer the opportunity to expand upon the high-level National Infrastructure Commission Design Principles and other water industry design principles to ensure that the landscape implications of reservoirs are addressed, and wider environmental opportunities are identified and included in their design.
The estimated contract value is shown as £20-28.5K excluding VAT. The estimated contract value including VAT is £24-34.2K. Tenders should be submitted including VAT as requested in the RFQ.
