Description

Slough Borough Council is looking to commission and procure a Sensory Needs Service we want to notify the market and are looking for providers who are able:

• to provide quality care act assessments for people with visual, hearing or dual sensory needs.

• to provide support planning and a personalised enablement package to support the service user, involving training and support on independent living skills and mobility.

• to provide the best possible value from the public funds available to us, in consideration of both the cost and quality of services.

• to maximise the independence of people with a sensory disability and enable them to exercise choice and control in the way their care needs are met

• to ensure that people with a sensory disability feel valued, have their needs met, and remain part of the wider community.

• to enable people with a sensory disability to enjoy life's risks associated with being independent and exercising personal choice

• to increase awareness within the wider community of sensory disabilities.

The support that will be provided under this new service will be:
• Assessment and support planning
• Equipment assessment and provision
• Information and advice
• Enablement Services


The Council requires and expects service providers to deliver high quality, person centred services to individuals in the community. The service providers should be able to deliver services to meet these in a responsive and supportive way.
