The Location of the Parish Hall is
West Street
Hythe

SO45 6AA

The Parish Hall is located a short walk from Hythe village centre alongside Ewart Recreation Ground. It offers a large hall and purpose-built stage. There is a large kitchen area with 2 serving hatches, a large reception area and cloakrooms. The hall is fully accessible and has a disabled toilet with baby changing facilities. A lay out map of the building is attached for information, however it is recommended that t a site visit to the building is arranged.
The Parish Hall facility is a single storey 1970's community build at a time of rudimentary thermal efficiency technology. The Council do have certification that the building has had cavity wall insulation, however this is currently being investigated as no other records regarding insulation are available.

Part of building facility is double glazed however approximately a third still has old metal or wooden window/door frames with single glazing leading to draughts and heat loss.

The roof is flat and is constructed of mastic asphalt overlaid with mineral felt, a contract has just been awarded to carry out repairs to the roof of the building. This work will start in September 2022.

The current boiler a Lennox G24M is now over 15 years old and is becoming inefficient and is frequently breaking. A specification of the Lennox G24M boiler is attached. The boiler currently does not provide any heating to the lower part of the building after the front door area, which includes the ladies and gent's toilets. Layout plan of the building attached.

Your tender is to be sent in a sealed envelope bearing no company identification and marked Air Source Heat Pump Parish Hall to The Clerk to the Council, The Grove, 25 St John's Street, Hythe, Southampton, SO45 6BZ by noon Friday 23rd September 2022
