Description

Patient nonattendance and failure to engage with eating disorder services can be costly to the individual in terms of the delay in obtaining appropriate timely treatment and the unnecessary suffering and discomfort this may entail.

NHS Kent and Medway CCG intend to commission a peer support and patient engagement services for adults with an eating disorder in the Kent and Medway region. Two peer support workers and involvement representatives will work with The Kent and Medway All Age Eating Disorder Service to aid patient engagement and participation. Peer Support workers support the recovery model, act as a mentor, assist in delivery of peer support groups as well as eating disorder training, education, and awareness (with appropriate training and clinical supervision).

The CCG would expect the indicative activity to be around 75 service users and 25 carers to be supported per annum.

The contract will be for 24 months with the option to extend for up to a further 12 months.

Providers who are able to deliver and are interested in bidding for this contract must express an interest by the deadline.

The Service being procured is a Schedule 3 (Health) Service, however the value of the contract falls below the Public Contract Regulations 2015 Light Touch Regime threshold.
