Description
Seaton Valley Council plans to replace and renew its existing playparks and equipment throughout to provide safe, durable and inclusive outdoor spaces that support well-being. The council is also seeking to improve its environmental impact and biodiversity.
This contract is for the removal and disposal of expired equipment in two separate locations, and to supply and install replacement equipment.
Locations:
- Seaton Sluice Young Person's Playpark, Beresford Road
- St. Michael's Avenue Young Person's Playpark, New Hartley
Contractors will be expected to excavate and dispose of the existing climbing frames in each location. Supply and install a new inclusive multigym in each location, including reparation of the surrounding area with wet-pour. Completion of all required safety checks post installation.
A submission form (provided) should be submitted by the deadline. Information requested on the form includes company profile, summary of relevant experience, detailed description of work to be completed, equipment to be supplied, safety standards and regulations, availability and timeline for all aspects of the work, and a quote detailing the individual cost of each element.
Applicants are encouraged to visit the playparks independently before submission.
Submissions will be scored based on (not in priority order):
• Price: Cost-effectiveness of bid, considering initial costs and long-term value.
• Quality: Durability, safety, and quality of materials and equipment.
• Play Value: Variety and quality of play activities for different ages and abilities.
• Design: Visual appeal and design, integration with surrounding environment.
• Safety: Equipment meets relevant safety standards & regulations.
• Environment: Sustainability and environmental impact of materials and installation.
• Experience: Previous experience and proven track record in similar projects.
• Maintenance: Maintenance requirements and warranty offered for the equipment.
• Legal and Compliance: Evidence of relevant insurances, and health and safety protocols.
• Timeline: Start date and anticipated completion date for the project.
• Clarity: Submission is concise, well-structured, and easy to review without wordiness.
Deadline for submissions: Midnight on Sunday 2nd November 2025.
Internal review: Week commencing 3rd November 2025.
Final decision: Wednesday, 26th November 2025.
Start date for project: December 2025.
Completion date: Ideally, no later than 8th Feb 2025.
