Description

The University has identified the need to replace its Content Management System (CMS), search solution and redevelop its external website. The project goal is to establish sustainable methods of creating Digital Services for the University's external website and other communications channels. We need to be able to maintain and develop our online services and be resilient to mitigate changes in internal or external personnel.

This part of the project is to design and co-create the components and patterns within a new LTU Digital Design System based on existing styles from the LTU Corporate and Brand Guideline and any emergent layouts, grids, naming conventions and colour palette evolutions which come out of initial discussions and project activities.

We expect the chosen partner to be involved with the design and co-creation of the Digital Design System Components and Patterns and associated documentation and user-guides.

As part of this we expect the chosen partner to work with the LTU Digital Team to create methodologies and standards to enable the internal team to utilise and further evolve its Digital Design System.

Our LTU Digital Design System will be made up of a series of styles (colours, fonts, images), components (e.g. button, accordion, radios, checkbox etc) and patterns (design solutions for specific user-focussed tasks and page elements).

There will also be an underpinning Digital Governance Framework comprising policies, procedures, guidelines, standards, documentation and user-guides to ensure the consistent and compliant use of the Digital Design System across all relevant digital channels.

This approach is based on the GOV.UK Design System: https://design-system.service.gov.uk/
