Description

Navy Digital requires the provision of cloud-enabling architectural support services for the Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA) programme. The MDA outcomes are provided via highly specialised cloud-based services that operate in the public and private cloud and up to SECRET, this enables Navy Command outputs and activities in the Ops and Ops support environments, used across ships, submarines, air stations, RN flights and RM units. This service requires knowledge of C4ISTAR architecture, Defence and ICT/CIS infrastructure, security and doctrine.

Navy Digital must ensure that the systems and capabilities within its portfolio remain relevant and compliant. Continued provision of project and programme management services need to be delivered in a manner that is consistent with current principles and best practices in order to interface with providers from industry and other Government departments to enable maritime operational outputs.

The MDA Programme directly supports current Operations in the Arabian Gulf, Indian Ocean, Mediterranean, UK EEZ and in collaboration with the French Navy - off West Africa and in the English Channel. It enables all operational activities of the X-Government Joint Maritime Security Centre (JMSC) and generates 70% plus of the RN/UK 'National' Recognised Maritime Picture (RMP), supports Maritime Security Ops (Counter: Piracy, Terrorism, Narcotics, illegal people trafficking/migration and smuggling), plus all Maritime Trade Operations activity.
