Description

NELCA are seeking to commissioning a Positive Behaviour Support Service (PBS) Assessment across the NELCA area.
Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) is an approach to supporting individuals that is based on a thorough functional assessment and an understanding of their behaviour. PBS takes the form of a PBS plan, developed by a qualified professional, which sets out proactive, active and reactive strategies to reduce behaviours that challenge and improve an individual's quality of life.
The NHS Long Term Plan sets out a commitment to continue to improve local services for people with learning disability and autism, and to ensure that any community support offer includes the right tools for people to be supported in their own homes. As PBS is a key part of this offer, NEL wish to commission PBS Functional Behaviour Assessments to work with professionals, patients and families within the seven boroughs.
The prospective provider will need to:
- Confirm if your organisation can deliver full functional behaviour assessments (FBA); these are to include sensory assessments where appropriate.

- Confirm if your organisation will be flexible in the delivery of the service and the methods used i.e. face to face, virtual or both?

- Confirm if all FBA within your organisation will be carried out by staff holding accredited qualifications in positive behaviour support or behaviour analysis (such as a Professional diploma or certification in PBS, BSc PBS, MSc Applied Behaviour Analysis/PBS or equivalent), who also have prior experience of carrying out functional behaviour assessments.

- Confirm that your organisation will be able to demonstrate that all individuals delivering this work are appropriately supervised by a qualified person.

- Confirm that your organisation is able to demonstrate partnership working by working closely with local community teams and that case work will be delivered in partnership with an individual and their circle of support.

- Confirm that your organisations training will meet the standards of the PBS Competency Framework and Improving the quality of Positive Behavioural Support (PBS).

- Confirm that your organisation is able to commence the service from 1 June 2021.

- Confirm if your organisation is compliant with Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT) requirements.

If you would like to express an interest in this opportunity, please complete the attached form and return to nelcsu.procurementnorthants@nhs.net by no later than 12:00 Noon on Tuesday 23 February 2021
At the Commissioner's discretion, only those providers who evidence that they meet the above requirements may be taken through to the next round of the procurement process. Due to the time constraints for this process, you will be notified of your organisation's inclusion in the next stage in a timely manner.
