The overall aim of the Domestic Missions programme is to catalyse and grow a market for Advanced Urban Services built around city collaborations, creative strategic procurement and increased understanding between public authorities and innovative SME businesses.
This contract will be for a six month pilot programme to act as a Delivery Partner to Innovate UK activities. If the pilot programme proves to be a success and demonstrates impact there is the possibility that a further, more comprehensive, programme of Domestic Missions will be organised.
The intention is to run five one day pilot Domestic Missions (2 in England, 1 in Scotland, 1 in Wales, 1 in N Ireland). Each Mission programme should be developed specifically to meet the needs of the selected area. Plans should be drawn up in collaboration with local public authorities, responding to specifically identified local priority challenges, particularly where funding could be identified to address these challenges. The Domestic Missions are not simply business pitching events. They are curated opportunities for businesses to understand authority challenges, constraints and processes better, and for authorities to understand the potential of emerging technologies.
The programme should build understanding and relationships both between and amongst, innovators and government agencies, with the intention to see Advanced Urban Services deployed broadly to address complex urban challenges.
Please ensure you review all attached information to ensure a full understanding of this requirement. All attachments can be found with the RFx attachments tab within the Emptoris System.
