Description

Expressions of interest are sought for conducting the Childcare and Early Years Survey of Parents 2017. The Childcare and Early Years Survey of Parents is a major Department for Education (DfE) funded cross-sectional survey series that provides salient, up-to-date information on parents' use of childcare and early years provision, as well as their attitudes towards, and experiences of, local childcare. Currently, the data are collected through face-to-face in-home interviews with over 6,000 parents of children aged between 0 and 14 years old living in England.

The survey aims to provide information to help monitor the progress of policies in the area of childcare and early years education by:
• providing salient, up-to-date information on the use of childcare and early years provision, as well as attitudes towards, and experiences of, local childcare amongst parents with children aged 0-14;
• continuing the time series - which has now been running for over ten years - to provide accurate and timely analysis of the data on issues covered, in order to assess the ongoing impact of policy interventions on children and parents throughout the survey series.
