The Border Force National Deep Rummage Teams (NDRTs) have responsibility to search ships and small vessels arriving into the United Kingdom. The teams have occasion to work in potentially hazardous areas on ships, this includes the use of breathing apparatus and working at heights. There is a need for the teams to be competent in giving first aid and possess casualty handling skills should an incident occur whilst searching commercial vessels or similar operational scenarios. The requirement is for First Response Emergency Care Level 3 (FREC3) training, with a Qualsafe accreditation, addressing the specific requirements of first aid at work and Confined Space Regulations for the National Deep Rummage Team (NDRT). The 3-year (plus 1) contract will include initial courses, as well as recertification and refresher courses, meaning officers continue to stay in ticket throughout the duration of the contract.
The contracting authority is issuing this Prior Information Notice (PIN) to alert the marketplace to an upcoming future opportunity and to gain a better understanding of this sector's suppliers. Any expressions of interest should be sent via email to Jamie Moore at oploservices@homeoffice.gov.uk
It is important to note that this PIN is not a call for competition and as such potential providers will need to express interest in any future tender opportunity once a contract notice is published on Contracts Finder. The contract notice is expected to be published on 21st April 2023.
It should be noted that this PIN invites individuals and organisations to express an interest in the future opportunity and is not a pre-qualification questionnaire, and is not part of any pre-qualification or selection process.
The buyer intends to use Home Office Short Form Contract Terms and Conditions for this opportunity. A copy of these terms is attached to this notice and bidders will be required to agree to these.
