Description

PLEASE NOTE THIS CONTRACT HAS NOW BEEN AWARDED - PLEASE REFER TO THE AWARD DETAILS SECTION BELOW.

The final date and time for the submission of bids is 19/06/2018 at 14:00.

DO NOT apply directly to the buyer.

Brief Description of Requirement:

The Office for Product Safety and Standards (the Office) was created in January 2018 by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), to enhance protections for consumers and the environment and drive increased productivity, growth and business confidence.

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into force on the 25th May 2018. Due to the delivery-focused nature of the Office in providing advice and guidance to those it regulates, the impact of GDPR is much wider than that of BEIS generally, as it deals with and requires access to lots of personal data in order to carry out day to day activities.

The concern is that with the substantial changes that have occurred over the last few years, the processes and procedures have become obsolete or outdated and therefore the Office needs an internal audit to establish what information is currently held, what processes and procedures need creating, and what training of staff is required.

The successful bidder will provide advice and create processes and procedures in order to ensure the Office's compliance with GDPR, as described above.

Individuals with an understanding of the current processes and procedures will work closely with the successful bidder to ensure they fully understand the data being processed and why.

The successful bidder will review and amend as required the processes and procedures used. Training and dissemination to staff will also be required.

Please ensure you review all attached information to ensure a full understanding of this requirement. All attachments can be found via the RFx attachments tab within the Emptoris System.

This contract will be awarded based on the evaluation criteria set out in the ITQ document.
