Description

The provider will provide an Autism Assessment and Intervention team aligned to mainstream health and social care. The service will provide a diagnostic pathway for adults suspected of having Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and manage a sub-contract to provide education, training and employment support. This notice, without call for competition, signals the CCG intention to procure the Autism and Diagnostic Service, through a competitive tendering process. The service will provide a diagnostic pathway for adults suspected of having ASD and its Service Objectives will be :
• To deliver a diagnostic service for adults (18+) who may have ASD (including Asperger's Syndrome).
• To deliver a service for reviewing patients already diagnosed with ASD where an expert review is needed
•To deliver a diagnosis to those who may present with ASD behavioural conditions and symptoms
•To provide post diagnosis support and brief interventions for adults with ASD
•To provide a community focused model that promotes support within the community for people with ASD.
•Provide clear pathways and signposting to other local services, and support for adults with an alternative diagnosis to ASD.
•Provide an effective transitional pathway to assist young people (with ASD) transfer from children's to adults services.
•Assist service users (where a need is identified) to access training and employment opportunities (delivered via a Third Sector organisation)
The service will be located in a suitable building within the borough which can be easily accessed by public transport for the majority of Tower Hamlets residents.
