Description

Border Force is a Directorate of the Home Office.

Border Force has a requirement to engage with a Service Provider to provide a Managed service for supply of medical services in Central/Eastern/Southern Mediterranean Sea and the Aegean/Ionian Sea, but other locations within the Mediterranean Sea may be necessary.

The role will involve Supply of medical care of Refugees (and crew if necessary) travelling by sea to Europe. Common conditions encountered include fractures, nausea, petrol and chemical burns, heat stroke, pregnancy, exhaustion and shock. There are also, unfortunately, situations where it may be necessary to handle deceased adults and children in various stages of decomposition recovered from the sea.

This contract will commence in Jan 2017 following a sourcing exercise based on written quotation. The purpose of this document is to make the Statement of Requirements and a small number of questions available and to invite potential suppliers to confirm they can fully meet the requirements by providing a written response to the questions and quotation on that basis. Those potential suppliers are invited to send an email to Janine Melia, Home office Commercial: Janine.Melia@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk, confirming their interest in this opportunity and providing brief details of their ability to meet the requirement, responses to the questions and in addition an itemised quotation. Emails should be submitted by Thursday 01 December 2016.
