Description
A Better Start Southend (ABSS) is a 10-year Big Lottery funded programme established to develop and test new ways of supporting Southend's children and families. The programme is led by the Pre-school Learning Alliance, working with a number of strategic Partners who share decision-making for the programme.
ABSS wish to commission (with the support of SBC) an interactive, children, young people and families service map which will fulfil four key functions:
• Provide an opportunity for relevant organisations and agencies to reflect their own services to better understand how related services operate.
• Provide a space where people can think creatively about how pathways could operate better.
• Describe existing pathways which people can refer back to in order to better understand the service experience.
• Allow teams to adapt and mould the map in conversations with partners and service users, such than new pathways and approaches can be explored and developed.
Deliverables include:
Part One - Database
A database of all services provided to children, young people and families (0-19)
Part Two - Service Map
Presentation of the database in an accessible visual format (e.g. a 'Map')
Part Three - Pathways/Models
The ability of the user to 'plot' pathways across the map
It is desirable that existing ICT products/solutions are used. Whilst these may need to be set up and configured (and associated costs can be covered for this technical work) ABSS and SBC do not wish to commission a new ICT product. Products used should, wherever possible, be owned, supported and maintained by reputable software providers.
If any bespoke software solutions are required, ABSS will negotiate how this is managed and any related IP matters.
