Description

NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) wishes to work in partnership with a suitably qualified and experienced Service Provider to deliver a Garment Rental and Laundering Service across its national estate.
It will be the Service Provider's responsibility to ensure that they acquire a detailed appreciation of the complexity of the service and the delivery requirements. NHSBT works to Pharmaceutical Manufacturing standards, referred to as Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP). The requirements of GMP are extremely rigorous. Compliance with GMP requires robust evidence of an audit trail in all processes. NHSBT attach great importance to accurate and consistent record-keeping and this should be duly noted by the Service Provider.
The quality of the Garment Rental and Laundering Service is an essential part of NHSBT licensing requirements and significant in terms of the effective running of critical life saving services within each Blood Centre.
The Service Provider shall be aware that NHSBT may undergo a period change in the form of refurbishment and adaptation during the contract period. This may include a reduction in the number of sites at which a service is required. It is therefore imperative that a partnering approach is developed in order to manage changes to service regimes.
Please be aware that NHSBT is not a hospital Trust.
