Description
North Derbyshire NHS Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) invites expressions of interest from suitably qualified providers for Specialist occupational therapy input to children's wheelchair services ("the service"), to be delivered across the population of children and young people registered with a GP member of North Derbyshire and Hardwick Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs). Broadly, this equates to the localities of High Peak (excluding Glossop), northern Derbyshire Dales, Chesterfield, Bolsover and North East Derbyshire.
The duration of the contract will be 12 months, commencing 1st April 2017 and ending 31 March 2018. The indicative value of the contract (over 12 months) is £28,000 non-recurrent.
Derbyshire's all-age Wheelchair Service provides a comprehensive service for people with long-term mobility problems (greater than 6 months) and associated postural needs characterised over four levels (low, medium, high and specialist). People can be referred at any point in their care pathway by a range of trained professionals and re-referrals are accepted, including patient self-referrals back into the service as required for reassessment should their needs change.
The local community paediatric occupational therapy team currently delivers the specialist occupational therapy input to children's wheelchair services for North Derbyshire and Hardwick CCG young people aged 0-18 (or age 19 when attending a special school), as attached in the Pathway Document. Approximately 135 referrals are expected over 12 months (at a 25/75 split between new and re-assessment respectively).
The Clinical Commissioning Group is looking for an interim provider to deliver this service, the service specification is attached for reference.
