Description
Following feedback from Highways England Traffic Officer's a project has been established to look at alternative options to the current Dorman lights carried in Traffic Officer Vehicles (TOV's).
A review of the existing sequential flashing lights used in Emergency Traffic Management (ETM) is supported by the findings and recommendations from the ETM Provision Review conducted by Transport Research Laboratory (TRL). The report noted that the use of sequential flashing cone lamps had a positive effect on drivers and their compliance with ETM, and that there are potential alternatives on the market to the current lights.
Highways England seek to investigate the market options to fulfil the requirement of nine sequential lights per Traffic Officer Vehicle for Emergency Traffic Management deployment, as per Chapter 8 requirements. Full specification is attached to this notice.
