Description
Woodcut Ltd is a wood product manufacturing company making specialist goods for a number of industries. Manufacturing bespoke products for the Defence sector played a major part in the early days and is still an important part of the business. We also manufacture bespoke furniture and fittings for commercial clients that provide services to homes, offices, shops, schools and other commercial premises. Our product offering is specialist and we sell to major retail businesses and blue chip brands nationwide.
Our growth and trading reputation has been brought about by steady organic growth and re-investment in modern machinery. As a result of this we can offer a cost-effective machining service for a number of customers that require the outsourcing of specialist material treatments including; specialist wood turning, CNC routing, cutting and edgebanding panels and laser engraving. This can be done using both customers' materials and/or supplying materials ourselves.
One of our major customers, a national shopfitting business, has indicated they would like to increase their orders with us for specialist edgebanding. At present we can offer this facility but only to a limited extent and we would like to retain this business moving forward. In order to achieve this, we need to invest in additional edgebanding capacity and it is expected that this investment will drive forward business growth and open new market avenues to us.
The purchase of this system is part of a grant funded application process and therefore procurement will be subject to grant approval of the project as a whole. We will compare tenders received on a compliance basis only.
