Description

Provision of new WCs and associated drainage and other works to Eye Town Hall. This is a grade 2* listed building on an island site in Eye, Suffolk. The works comprise demolition of existing partitions, removal of existing sanitary fittings and disposal, removal of asbestos tanks and new male and female WCs and facilities for accessible facilities and baby change. A new drainage system or substantial overhaul of the existing system and a connection to the main sewer may be required. The building will be in use during the works but no public access will be allowed into working areas. The council has formulated a list of instructions to bidders and requirements in order to have a tender considered for acceptance. These are attached to the tender documents which will be sent on receipt of an application.

To be considered bidders must be able to demonstrate experience and competency in working in grade 2 or preferably grade 2* listed public buildings.
Works will be supervised by Hucklesby Architects and QS and CDMC services are provided by Castons (Ipswich office)
The site can be visited by making an appointment with the town clerk using the email address in section 1
The prospective successful bidder will be required to provide references from one public sector body to demonstrate competency on similar types of project and attend an interview on site. The interview will be used to demonstrate an understanding of the works and competent working practices. Successful completion of these tasks will be a condition of being considered for the tender award.
