Description
Cornwall Council intends to go out to tender for a framework of providers to deliver day services. This relates to the externally provided services and does not impact on the in house council run day services.
We are looking to buy person centred community based day support services for adults with a learning disability and for people with age related needs.
There has not been a tender process for day support for many years. Cornwall Council wants to give information and advice to help all providers to be tender ready.
Provider Events
There will be two provider events:
• The essential requirements
• The online tender application
Each event will be held at least twice in different parts of the county. These are likely to be held in March and June - further information will be published when it is available.
Being Prepared
There is preparation that you can begin now to help you make best use of the events:
1. Sign up for Cornwall Council's e-tendering portal Due North at www.supplyingthesouthwest.co.uk so that you receive any advert alert about the tender
2. Check your health and safety certificates and be aware of any accreditation requirements for CHAS (Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme) or relevant SiPPS (Safety Scheme in Procurement) accreditation. CHAS or SiPPS is only required if awarded a place on the framework.
3. Ensure your insurance policies are up to date. Verification of insurance will only be required if awarded a place on the framework.
4. Review key policies and ensure you have up to date policies on, for example, Equality and Diversity, Data Protection Act 1988 requirements.
Check your Safeguarding policy complies with the Council's policy and provides an equivalent level of protection. A copy of the policy can be found: www.cornwall.gov.uk/health-and-social-care/adult-social-care/safeguarding-adults/
5. Think about how you use person centred planning in your service and how you support people to achieve their desired outcomes
6. How do you link with community groups and activities to make best use of available resources
7. Have a look at information on co-production and ways to involve a range of people in developing the service
