Description

Corsham Town Council is looking to refurbish the play equipment at the Little Play Area, Katherine Park. The Council is seeking a contractor to remove four pieces of old timber equipment, some old posts/footings and associated surfacing, and to design, install and appropriately surface new play equipment in the Little Play Area. The design should mostly cater for younger children (approx. 3-7 years of age). The layout and equipment should be interesting, fun, visually appealing and create a place where children want to go and where parents want to take them. The Town Council feels that there is sufficient room for six pieces of equipment. During consultation with residents, the most requested items were: multi-play (148 votes), swings (134), climbing frame (91), see-saw (85), slide (76), interactive vehicle e.g. car/train (72). Although it was not an option in our consultation 13 respondents asked for a trampoline in the 'any other comments' section. The contractor would be expected to produce a design which included most of these items. We would also expect that some of the equipment would cater for children with disabilities or special educational needs.
