Description
Tees, Esk & Wear Valley NHS Foundation Trust are seeking a Provider to deliver a safe and supportive environment, for all adult mental health service users experiencing or preventing mental health crisis. The Haven @ 30 Clarence Street will provide an out of hours service for any adult in mental distress in York and Selby within a welcoming, safe, supportive, comfortable and non-clinical environment that promotes independence opportunities for recovery.
The Haven @ 30 Clarence Street Project will promote self-management and responsibility, ownership of care, shared decisions, non-judgement, validation, choice, hope, trauma awareness, and a positive attitude towards a person's recovery. There will be smooth links with the crisis and home treatment, hospital liaison, and street triage teams. The aim is to develop 'The Haven @ 30 Clarence Street' to provide a place of safety and access to multi-agency support for those at risk of experiencing mental health crisis.
The approach being proposed in York has been informed by a beacon of good practice and innovation developed by North East Hampshire Clinical Commissioning Group. They have operated a drop-in Safe haven in Aldershot since April 2014.
The Provider will ensure a staffing model that will deliver a service in line with the service specification and as a minimum, compliance with the identified mandatory requirements and standards.
It is intended that The Haven @ 30 Clarence Street will have a relaxed, informal, non-clinical atmosphere. It will have a beverage bar for light refreshments, a comfortable lounge and TV, and private rooms for consultations.
There will be a provision of a dedicated service telephone line and provision of network connectivity (provided via a wireless hub within the building).
This opportunity is for an initial 12 months with options for a further 2 x 12 months extensions.
