Description

Stoke-on-Trent City Council seeks to appoint a specialist tourism business support/training provider to deliver a programme of work with leisure and tourism related SMEs in Stoke-on-Trent to provide expert help/advice to grow their business to the tourism market. The business support programme should be designed to help improve the competitiveness of businesses, increasing capacity, enhancing product awareness and quality of offer.

Support for leisure and tourism SMEs will be delivered by sector specialists via 1-2-1 business advice, seminars, and workshops covering agreed topics and priorities. This project is funded through the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. The UKSPF funded programme Visit Stoke-on-Trent: A City of Imagination, supports Stoke-on-Trent's Visitor Economy Strategy 2022 - 2027 which aims to transform the City into one of the region's most important cultural tourism destinations within the next 5 years. The UK Shared Prosperity Fund is a central pillar of the UK government's Levelling Up agenda and provides £2.6 billion of funding for local investment by March 2025. The Fund aims to improve pride in place and increase life chances across the UK investing in communities and place, supporting local business, and people and skills.
