Description

LOT 1 - Replacement/Refurbishment of End of life Pool Filters & Pool Water Heat Exchangers. The tender must request a refurbishment and replacement tender option from each bidder. Remove and dispose of the two existing 2.35m diameter bobbin wound glass fibre sand filters and replace with two new epoxy lined steel filters fabricated in-situ to fit the existing pipework including air scouring, new sand or glass media to be provided. Remove and dispose of the two existing pool water calorifiers and install a new pumped injection system (as per design provided by others) linked to 120kW & 200kW plate heat exchangers to heat both the learner and main pool water return flows respectively. All systems to be pressure tested and commissioned and handed over with the provision of operational and maintenance manuals.
LOT 2 - Pool Lining & Pool Covers. The tender must request of the bidder options, firstly to re-line both the main and learner pool, with an option to re-line the learner pool and repair the tank of the main pool including a resin solution for the surrounding area of the pools. Included in this lot will be the replacement of the pool covers for the main and learner pools. Remove and dispose of 134m2 of existing ceramic pool tiles from the 8m x 9m x 0.75m learner pool up to the surrounding gulley and replace with a suitable new epoxy/fibreglass or tiled lining. Remove and dispose of 180m2 of pool surrounds walk area and replace with a suitable resin bead composite or floor tiles. Remove and dispose of the existing 25m x 9m and 8m x 9x pool covers replace with heat retention pool covers made from 6mm closed cell polyethylene foam or equivalent.
LOT 3 - Planned Structure Maintenance This lot will be subject to the testing once the outcome of that work is known and detailed by a structural consultant, the scope of the work will be to fabricate and install structural supporting steel brackets and supporting fixtures onto the glued laminated timber wall roof framework within the pool hall following an agreed method. All steel to meet the requirements of BS EN ISO 12944 specification for C4 category, given the corrosive environment and maintenance to the high level velux windows and timber frame will also be included with the Lot.
