Description

BEIS would like to commission an external organisation to conduct research into the UK's contribution to the dumping of inefficient 2nd hand vehicles in ODA countries. This research will consist of a port study to record the VIN and Reg numbers of between 500-1000 vehicles and test a smaller number (around 150) for irregularities and the general state of the car at export, looking for vital missing parts which affect the efficiency and safety such as missing catalytic converters. BEIS will use the reg numbers from all the cars gathered at port (whether tested or just reg/vin noted) to compare with the DVLA database on road worthiness, age and standard during it's last MOT inspection. BEIS would then require a short report of the findings.

A early market engagement session held on 26th January at 2pm, please email internationalclimateandenergy.procurement@beis.gov.uk to register interest.
