Description

The HS2 Delivery team are investigating a potential tunnel section some 2.6km for Phase 1 of the proposals that will take the railway line north of Birmingham. This will involve tunnelling under the existing M6 Bromford Viaduct on the southern end with the tunnel then running north, close to and alongside the M6 Bromford Viaduct for some 1.85km.
There is, therefore, a need for additional independent structural and geotechnical specialist engineering advice for Highways England to assess the potential impact on Bromford Viaduct by the HS2 railway scheme.
