Historic England are supporting the Humber Archaeology Partnership to complete a post-excavation programme for a prehistoric and early medieval site at North Back Lane, Kilham, East Riding of Yorkshire.
In the first instance consultants will be required to submit a method statement and price for a post excavation assessment. It is expected that, dependent on performance, the consultant successful in bidding for the assessment will progress to undertake the post-excavation analysis including the production of a publication.
Description
Consultants will be expected to provide a method statement and price for a post excavation assessment (including an updated project design) which is in line with a written specification compiled by the Humber Archaeology Partnership, to be supplied. Consultants will be assisted in their bid by being provided with a copy of the written quantification of the site archive compiled by East Riding Archaeology, the site's excavators. Any consultant preparing a bid for this work must demonstrate a track record of post excavation project achievement.
The contract period will be for 6-9 months, commencing in February 2022. The total expenditure for the assessment alone is anticipated as being between £30,000 and £40,000. Humber Archaeology Partnership will act as the Project Executive.
