Description
The Council would like to invite Tenderers to submit a tender response for selection of a single contractor to supply and provide ongoing maintenance of Integrated Cross-service Digital Radio System ("the Services"), on a non-exclusive basis as called off additional functionality that will be required over the total possible contract term of 5 years.
The Council have existing digital and analogue radio infrastructure located on the roof of Goscote House (a high-rise council owned tower block in the St Peters area of the city). This building is currently being emptied of tenants with the intention of starting demolition in early 2020. It is therefore necessary to re-site, replace and provide new increased capacity radio infrastructure at another location in line with new council requirements. The preferred location for this equipment is a recently refurbished council owned high-rise tower block nearby, known as Gordon House, but other similar Leicester Council premises could be explored as necessary.
The extension of the Leicester City Council digital network and the discontinuance of existing analogue systems coincides with a requirement for the supply of significant numbers of additional digital radios with GPS and "officer down" functionality, accessories for these and entirely new digital channels to serve them.
Annual servicing of all radios and a prompt repair / replacement service of faulty radios and accessories are required. During the contract period the supplier must supply and install all critical system wide software and security updates. The supplier will be responsible for all preventative and reactive maintenance within the agreed process and timescales.
