Description

The Works comprise construction & refurbishment of a unique immersive technology facility, designed to enable SMEs in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly (CIOS) to access and benefit from virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR) and mixed reality (MR) technologies . This project is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund.
Specifically, the Works will comprise the refurbishment of space within the existing Daphne du Maurier building on the Penryn Campus to create the Immersive Business facility. This will involve the creation of a new entrance with meet and greet space, 2nr VR arena spaces, meeting room, offices, storage, and WCs together with specialist IT installations and all associated works.

THE IMMERSIVE BUSINESS PROJECT

The Works comprise construction of a unique immersive technology facility, designed to ena-ble SMEs in Cornwall and the Isle of Scilly to access and benefit from virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR) and mixed reality (MR) technologies for Falmouth University on the Penryn Campus. This project is part financed by European Funds.
The new Immersive Business Building will be a single storey building. The approx. GIFA is 248m2. The Immersive project is an ERDF funded building.
The Works will also include:
• Connections to the existing site services.
• Re-modelling of the external areas including new paving, soft landscaping and external facade works.
The Penryn Campus is set in 100 acres, is close to the town of Falmouth and the site is shared by Falmouth University and UoE of which FXPlus manages and/or delivers all shared services on the Campus.

Currently Falmouth University's consultancy team MWJV (Lead Consultant) Quay Studious (In-terior Designer) MBA (Structural Engineer), SJH Consulting (M&E engineer) have completed the design to the end of RIBA Stage 4.
Falmouth University has appointed a lead consultant (MWJV), the successful contractor/ Bidder will be required to work collaboratively with those appointed in connection with the Immersive Business Building in order to achieve Falmouth University's requirements.
