Description

The purpose of this RFQ is for The Royal Society to invite Suppliers to provide Services for a Call for Views on the changing nature of mathematics and the implications for education.
The Call for Views is a mechanism which the Royal Society uses to obtain constructive views, information and evidence from a broad range of individuals and organisations. This Call for Views focusses on how the mathematical sciences are changing and what the impact of the changes may be on education and on society at large. The Society wishes to commission a comprehensive analysis of the Call for Views responses. The Supplier will be required to:
1. Analyse the Call for Views responses using an appropriate analytical framework and a range of techniques for exploring the content, structure and categorisation of the responses. This will include:
a) Identifying emerging themes for each of the five segments of citizens in this programme.
b) Providing a range of appropriate visualisations of the response data in order to facilitate insights into the data from different perspectives.
2. Validate the findings, e.g. in a workshop or other community engagement mechanisms.
3. Provide an in-depth interpretation of the themes to connect the findings to current debates in mathematics, education policy and research, society and the economy.
4. Present a final draft of the analysis at an MFP Board meeting.
The intention is to use the findings and analysis to inform projects 2 and 3, as well as identify the next steps for the MFP Board in Phase II.
At the end of the service it is envisaged that the Royal Society will be provided with a detailed and thorough written report(s) containing an analysis of the findings that have emerged from the Call for Views. The Supplier will also have the opportunity to discuss the findings with the research team(s) in a dedicated meeting.
