Description

MOPAC is leading a tripartite project with MOJ and Kent PCC to commission a through-the-gate mentor service for Cookham Wood YOI. The mentor service will be a holistic, trauma-informed service for youth offenders preparing to leave the YOI. The mentors will provide support tailored to young offenders' distinct needs, especially looking at the link between victimisation and offending and supporting their link with victim services. The aim of the pilot is to reduce reoffending, improve mental health and support young adults to make positive life choices.

MOPAC is interested in commissioning a through-the-gate service that supports young offenders in recognising their own victimisation. We are interested in exploring models which involve delivery led by the Voluntary Community Sector. We are keen to embed a psychologically-informed approach mentorship, with experienced mentors able to offer guidance and support to young offenders.

This opportunity to bid will be open for one month, closing on 5th September, with a decision taken on the provider in September following discussions with MOPAC's Procurement and Grant Board.

The Supplier must be able to demonstrate a trauma-informed approach to their work with young people.

The Supplier must be able to mobilise in early September to commence the service in January 2022. A project timeline is included in the specification.

Bids and clarification questions should be sent to tender@mopac.london.gov.uk
