Description

The University of Manchester wishes to purchase an integrated cryogen-free vacuum optical cryostat. This scientific equipment will be housed within the National Graphene Institute at the University of Manchester. The facility has an ultra-isolated 'quiet' environment designed to be accessed by Manchester scientists along with academic and industrial research partners. The NGI facility will be used for the study of new phenomena, new materials and new devices, and will drive innovation. It will provide access to advanced instrumentation and measurement capability, and training for current and future researchers in academia and industry. The integrated cryogen-free optical cryostat system will allow for the measurement of the optical properties of materials produced by the UHV EVE system from room temperature to 4K.
