Description

The whole Pendennis Castle site is managed by English Heritage. Various buildings are listed as Scheduled Monuments or Grade I and II buildings. The works are taking place on the Royal Artillery Barracks (RAB) which was constructed at the start of the 21st century. On the ground floor, there is a commercial kitchen and café, seating area, a hospitality kitchen and event room, a soft play family room, lift plant room and electrical intake cupboards and toilets. On the first floor, there is a meeting room, education room, museum, staff room and staff offices/ storerooms. There is an access to the ceiling void that house the gas boiler by a fixed ladder. All buildings onsite are of solid stone wall construction with plastered and/ or brick internal walls.

This specification outlines the Phase 2 works; Temporary boiler installed as part of Phase 1 to be removed as part of Phase 2. The temporary gas valve and piping will need to be isolated as part of the removal works. 2no. air source heat pumps to be installed adjacent to the existing external water tanks. Calorifiers to be moved to their permanent position as part of the installation of the new air source heat pumps. Works may include the repair of a section of the timber roof of the turret due to house the new plant.
