Description

Hull: Yorkshire's Maritime City (H:YMC) is a £30m cultural regeneration project (Maritime Project) which is developing several sites across the city of Hull. A key element of the Maritime Project is the preservation of the Spurn Light Vessel. After a £2m restoration programme, currently under way, the Spurn Light Vessel ship will return to a permanent wet berth in Hull Marina at the base of the new road bridge 'Murdoch's Connection' which links the marina areas to the heart of the city. The purpose of this procurement is to appoint a contractor to provide the civil works and piling that will allow the Spurn Light Vessel to be berthed at the top of the Marina and become an iconic landmark, both as part of the delivery of the Maritime Project sites, and in welcoming drivers through, and visitors to, the city of Hull. DESCRIPTION OF THE WORKS: The works to be delivered relate to the provision of a permanent mooring and berthing system, as well as a fixed brow, for the historic Spurn LV. Specifically, the works require: Perform suitable Site Investigations and Surveys to inform the works; Dredging of the berth including installation of silt curtain; Disposal of the dredged material; Construction design and drawings following site investigations and surveys; The installation of 5 tubular marine piles in the Marina; The construction of a bank seat on the foreshore; The procurement and installation of a pedestrian gangway, including bearings, that will be fixed to the bankseat and will allow for public access to the vessel; Connection of services; Producing a Health and Safety File. It is intended to enter contract with the successful supplier during October 2022, with the works to be undertaken and completed by 31st January 2023. Full details regarding the required works are in the full tender pack available via the YORtender portal, https://yortender.eu-supply.com , Tender Ref. 57616.
