NHS England and NHS Improvement North West Health and Justice Procurements

North of England Commissioning Support (NECS) is working for and on behalf of NHS England and NHS Improvement North West (Health and Justice Team) (the Contracting Authority) to conduct market engagement to obtain input and feedback in preparation for the tender of the below contracts:-

• NHSE809 Dental Services in Prisons;
• NHSE808 Health and Social Care in Prisons; and
• NHSE807 Mental Health Services in Prisons.

The Contracting Authority would like to gather soft intelligence from the market and are publishing a Request for Information (RFI) for each service.

Each of the services will be tendered separately and will consist of the following Lots and will have the following estimated contract values:-

NHSE809 Dental Services in Prisons
HMP Altcourse - Annual Value £250,000.00
HMP Styal - Annual Value £160,000.00
HMP's Risley / Thorn Cross - Annual Value £200,000.00

Total Annual Contract Value - £610,000.00

NHSE808 Health and Social Care in Prisons
HMP Forest Bank - Annual Value £5,000,000.00
HMP Altcourse - Annual Value £5,000,000.00
HMP Styal - Annual Value £3,340,000.00
HMP's Risley / Thorn Cross - Annual Value £2,400,000.00

Total Annual Contract Value - £15,740,000.00

The RFIs and further documentation including draft service specifications for each of the services will be available on the Intend Portal https://in-tendhost.co.uk/nhsnecsu/aspx/home. Providers will be able to select the appropriate RFI for the service/s they wish to respond to. The RFIs will be available from Monday 29 November 2021 and the deadline for responses will be 12 Noon Monday 20 December 2021. Please note that all communications and RFI submissions will be conducted via the Intend Portal.
Please note that this exercise is not part of any pre-qualification process. It is intended as an awareness, communication and information gathering exercise offering an opportunity for provider organisations to help inform potential future service models and/or commissioning intentions.
