Description

APHA requires the supply, delivery and installation of an imaging platform for use within the Virology Department . The contractor will also be required to deliver training to three (3) users.
The Equipment will meet the following requirements:-
External Dimensions
- The imaging platform shall have a depth no greater than 600 mm, a height no greater than 900 mm and a width no greater than 600 mm.
General:
- Be designed specifically for viewing, analysing and documenting agarose, protein and western blotting gels.
- Be compatible with general 240v UK electricity supply. Supplier must specify if their equipment will be delivered with a 13amp UK 3 pin plug.
- It needs to be equipped with:

i. high resolution e.g. cooled charge-coupled display (CCD) camera with high sensitivity and reduced background noise for Chemiluminescence imaging

ii. UV and/or LED based imagin platform for visualising dyes like SYBR Safe and Gel Red during nucleic acid detection (PCR)

iii. white light imaging or equivalent (not essential) to capture colorimetric stained protein gels (Coomassie blue/silver stain)

iv. Analysis software that can run on Windows 7 and 10 for quantifying the signal intensities.

- The potential to upgrade the platform to analyse multiple fluorescence probe-labelled images may be a future consideration. This option is desirable but not essential and will NOT be evaluated, therefore should be priced separately, if applicable.
