Description
The Rayne Institute is a specialist Medical Research Facility within King's College London conducting world leading research in haematological diseases, including blood cancers and red cell and clotting disorders. Our patients are at the heart of our research as we work together to discover future improvements in patient care.
The Comprehensive Cancer Centre operates a cryogenic storage facility for living cells and tissues, especially primary human blood and bone marrow samples. Cryopreservation at ultra-low temperatures is key to maintaining the integrity of sensitive biological materials for extended periods of time and the Rayne cryostore provides the necessary installations to hold valuable tissue samples until these can be used in research programmes.
