Description

Loughborough University wishes to purchase two stand-alone laser baser inspection systems for the detection of defects in marine composites.

The first system (system 1) needs to be a flexible stand-off tripod mounted system capable of looking at an area of at least 900 cm2, the second system (system 2) needs to be a vacuum mounted system which can attach onto the component and capable of looking at an area of at least 400cm2, both systems with a maximum cycle time of 10 seconds. The University requires the equipment to support a new teaching course on marine composite inspection. The two systems are to be located in a purpose built laboratory currently under construction on the University campus.
Any proposed solution needs to be fully CE compliant and suitably marked as well as comply with the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008, HSE Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 Guidance, and The Equality Act 2010.
The University wishes to select a single supplier, via a tender exercise issued on Contracts Finder, utilising Intend. All re-sellers are invited to respond in writing to this document.
Our requirement is to have delivery and commissioning completed by mid-April for us to support the rest of our programme in terms of setting up and delivering the training courses. Tenderers who are able to offer optimum delivery and commissioning timings are likely to score more highly in the tender evaluation.
