Description

Endeavour Wharf is located on the west side of Whitby Harbour to the south of the swing bridge and consists of a 375m linear length of steel sheet piles.

The wharf has been modified over the years and sections of sheet piling have been replaced and new sections added. However there remains two original sheet piled areas installed in the late 1950's, to the Northern end of the wharf approximately 26m in length and 142m at the Southern end. The remedial works relate to these two lengths of wharf frontage.

The pile sections here have deteriorated over time and extensive corrosion particularly to the top of the piles has been recorded.

To counteract this it is proposed to place mass concrete behind the sheet piling, followed by removal of the corroded sheet pilling along with other associated works detailed in the works information.
