Description

Ashford Borough Council is seeking expressions of interest from suitable* contractors to provide cavity wall and loft insulation to its housing stock. Associated works such as pipe/cistern insulation, cavity rubble removal, loft clearance and walkways will also be required. (*suitable contractors must be/have National Insulation Association (NIA) registered installers, their work independently guaranteed by the Cavity Insulation Guarantee Agency (CIGA) and preferably hold ISO14001 certification).

The Contractor will need to meet the following industry standards:
• BBA certified for the installation of cavity wall and loft insulation.
• Cavity Insulation Guarantee Agency certified (for CIGA 25 year guarantee).
• Gas safety awareness trained installers (particularly for cavity wall insulation).
• Member of the National Insulation Association (NIA).
• Fully trained and certified installers via their system designers/BBA.
• Trained and BBA registered insulation surveyors and;
• Have access to Energy Company Obligation (ECO) funding.

A budget of £50,000 has been allocated however there is no fixed programme, nor is there any guarantee as to the level of work that will be awarded. Areas of need are usually identified as a result of other works that are taking place within the borough.

The work will be contracted on a schedule of rates, based on a number of standard dwelling types, for either type of insulation.

37 weeks from commencement (18th July 2022)
