Description
East and North Hertfordshire and Herts Valleys Clinical Commissioning Groups are intending to procure an NHS Integrated Urgent Care Service for both CCGs and an Acute in Hours Visiting Service for East & North Hertfordshire CCG, via an Open Procedure.
The contracting length is to be confirmed at Invitation to Tender stage. It is likely to be for a minimum of 3 years and may offer an extension period.
The service to be procured is based on the Integrated Urgent Care Commissioning standards published in September 2015, to deliver to the public and healthcare professionals a single point of telephony access into urgent care, alongside their registered GP and affording the CCGs the ability to coordinate urgent care intervention through the NHS 111 service, the Clinical hub, and an Out of Hours telephony & appointment service
The service will deliver a clinically led, patient focused sustainable, high quality service with operational efficiency. Accessible to all patients, utilising telephony and digital technologies (multi-channel) to deliver the most clinically appropriate and value for money outcome, whilst managing demand that the service requires from other stakeholders including primary care, ambulance services, community services and emergency departments.
The service will assess patients' with their unplanned urgent care needs, working in partnership with the wider urgent care system across ambulance, primary, community, secondary, mental health, social care and the voluntary sector.
Any successful Provider will ensure that all the service elements deliver high quality medical services that integrate fully with other providers to achieve an improved patient pathway, improved patient outcomes and patient experience.
Bidders should be aware that the Integrated Urgent Care service for the Royston practices are being commissioned by Cambridgeshire and Peterborough CCG.
General information
The Commissioners will be seeking clinically sound, innovative and value for money solution for the delivery of this requirement. The Commissioners will expect that the providers work closely with both CCGs and their constituent localities, System Resilience Groups and Vanguard schemes for their local population.
Full details on the required services and supporting information will be contained in the Invitation to Tender documentation pack, when this is released.
Bidder Information Session
A Bidder Information session will be held as part of this project, with the aim to provide an outline of the service requirement and guidance on the indicative process and electronic procurement system.
The event will take place on 4th February 2016. Further details will be released to bidders registering via the electronic procurement system.
