Description

There is a requirement for a gas chromatograph with electron capture detection system (GC-ECD) to maintain Cefas' capability for specialist environmental contaminants determination at trace and ultra-trace level in the marine environment. The capability will enable the targeted analysis of known halogenated Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) (such as polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and organochlorine pesticides), in a variety of sample matrices including sediments and biota (e.g. fish, shellfish or aquatic mammals).

The system proposed by the Tenderer must be new with guaranteed support of parts, firmware and software of 10 years or more. The GC-ECD system will consist of the following parts:

1. Two (2) automated sample introduction system
2. One (1) Gas Chromatograph (GC) with two (2) Electron Capture Detectors
3. Chromatographic data system

The system must be supplied with all parts required for installation to integrate with existing facilities so that it is fully operational on installation. The system is to be installed and tested by trained engineers to assure that the components and system are functioning properly and that the installation specifications are met.

Delivery and Installation Requirements:

It is important to Cefas that delivery is made before or during WC 21st March 2022 to ensure payment by end of FY. If delivery cannot be accommodated in this timeframe, Cefas reserve the right to withdraw from the exercise or request additional documentation to be provided as evidence of ownership.

The equipment is required to be delivered/installed to Cefas Lowestoft Laboratory NR33 0HT.
